4 must have images of your camping weekend

Who doesn’t think that there is something magical about camping? Being out in nature, breathing fresh air, building camp fires and the s’mores.

Lots and lots and lots of s’mores…mmmmm…..

So, obviously, you want to make sure you get pics of your kids eating those delicious gooey treats, but what else?

4 Must Have Images Of Your Camping Weekend:

  1. The s’mores…need I say more? The messier the better. Get that marshmallow stretching between dirty finger, chocolate mustaches, and, of course, the toasting marshmallows over the camp fire.

2. Bring your widest lens (for me, that’s my 24mm) and capture the whole scene. Wait until golden hour then build a campfire and capture the smoke lighting up the sun rays as they beam through the trees. Make Steven Spielberg jealous.

3. Details! Bring your macro lens and capture those simple details that matter so much: the shells in your child’s hand, toes in the sand, the smudge of dirt on the cheek. Go in close and fill the frame with the detail.

4. The Dirt! Camping is dirty. Really dirty. We allow ourselves to get dirty camping in a way that we never would in our daily lives (well, most of us). It’s a chance for us to let down our greasy hair and embrace the smell of smoke in our clothing.
