Three tips to style your baby bump

When I was pregnant, I felt anything but cute. I really wish that I had known Wendy then. Wendy is a Seattle Personal Shopper and Wardrobe Stylist who works with woman who feel frumpy or outdated.

She is also expecting her first baby girl!

I put her in front of my camera and picked her brain on how exactly to style a baby bump in a way that is comfortable yet still cute.

There are three super easy but important things you can do:

1) Put on a dress! Dresses are comfortable, they look great, and they up-level you from a basic pair of pants.

2) Accessorize! At any size and any stage, accessories give your outfit a completed look. Wendy suggests treating yourself to a new necklace or ring. Even a lipstick counts! It doesn’t matter what accessories you use but the more meaningful the better. Meaningful accessories are a gateway to a story, and Wendy has a great one to share in another post about her necklace.

3) Fitted pieces are more flattering than not fitted. A fitted piece should not be TIGHT. It should be comfortable but show off your bump.

Now for some really good news! I’ve teamed up with Wendy to offer my clients a personal styling session before their shoot! Wendy will help you go through your closet and put together outfits for the whole family that will help you feel amazing in your photos. I can’t wait for you to meet her!
