I feel so blessed to live the life that I have, and I am so grateful each and every day. Part of what gives my life meaning is to give back to the world however I can.
Last August, I had the opportunity to go to Rwanda to photograph a little school on the top of a hill. The school served the community who lived on the hill but needs to expand to accommodate more students. The photos I took of the children and the school are used to generate money that goes directly to benefit the school.
I also currently work with Soulumination – a charity who provides professional photographs to children with life-threatening illnesses.
Supporting children and telling their stories is deeply meaningful to me. Whether it is the telling the story of my own child or a child who lives half way around the world, I firmly believe that stories make us who we are and there is nothing more powerful than telling someone’s story through a photograph.
